The title says it all. Once you make this Oven Roasted Garlic for Every Day of Your Life, you’re going to be using it…every dang day of your life. I can’t think of any savory dish that won’t be complimented by the flavors of this hearty, robust, garlicky goodness that takes no time at all to make.
You can roast as few or as many bulbs as you like. I usually do 6-8 and that gives me enough garlic for the week to go crazy with. However, you can do just one or two if you don’t plan to live on garlic like me.
Have you tried my 5-Minute Healthy and Nutritious Hummus Dip? Have you tried it with some of this roasted garlic in it?
I use about 3 whole bulbs for the hummus and it is THE most divine flavor. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Other things this garlic is PERFECT for:
- Adding a few cloves to anything you are stir frying in a pan.
- Top a salad with as many cloves as you like.
- Puree some cloves into any dressing or sauce you are creating.
- Put them on burgers and sandwiches.
- Add some garlic cloves to soups.
- Try a few cloves whole or mashed up in a pasta dish!
Like I said, the options are limitless. Anything that does well with the flavor of garlic will be AWESOME with these roasted garlic cloves.
One thing to note is that roasted garlic is much, much milder in flavor that raw garlic, so don’t be afraid of using more than usual.
Heck, I just eat these by themselves sometimes as I’m prepping my meals.
So! Without further waxing of how delectable this oven roasted garlic is, let’s make some! All you really need is some fresh bulbs of garlic!
I got these on sale for 35 cents each at my local co-op. You really can’t beat that.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and take your desired amount of garlic and slice off just the very tops to expose the cloves. Be careful not to cut off too much. Any cloves that aren’t exposed will still cook, so don’t worry.
Drizzle the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Then, transfer them to a lined baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 30-35 minutes. You’ll know they are done when they are browned and some of the cloves may start popping up out of their little garlicky pods.
Also, your house will smell RIDICULOUSLY good.
Pull your garlic out of the oven and allow to cool slightly if you are using these right away. If you are using these later, allow them to cool completely before putting them in a container to store in the fridge until later.
To get your garlic out of the little pods, simply squeeze from the base up and they should pop right out. Some may be a little more finicky than others, but overall I’ve never had any problems. For those that didn’t get their tops cut off, just slice the top off with a knife before squeezing.
I hope you love this recipe as much as me!
